In normal circumstances it can be a lot of work to keep up with all the different roster and scoring settings across all the fantasy platforms — having leagues on ESPN and CBS, for instance, are totally different experiences. But this year there is an extra wrinkle — WR/CB Travis Hunter will generate offensive and defensive production in a way we rarely see.

Most traditional leagues have a team defense position that receives points for interceptions, fumbles, sacks, and defensive TDs but depending on the way the scoring settings are configured it is possible that Hunter's defensive production will apply to him as both an individual player (IDP) and also the Jacksonville DST. And in some platforms, starting Hunter as a WR will get you his defensive points (and vice versa). 

To make sure you are informed of how your platform(s) of choice are handling the situation, I reached out to the platforms and asked three questions:

1. In traditional (non-IDP) fantasy leagues, will any of Hunter's defensive production generate fantasy points for him the way they would for a team defense?
2. If you offer IDP leagues, is he being treated as one player who can only be drafted once and score points as both a WR and CB, or are Travis Hunter the WR and Travis Hunter the CB being treated as separate players? (I realize this is unlikely but you can never be too careful)
3. Assuming he is being treated as one player for IDP leagues, will his offensive and defensive production count regardless of what spot he fills in your lineup?

It's important to note that these are the default settings on each platform — most platforms allow commissioners to adjust the scoring settings, so be sure to double check your settings or ask your commissioner if they have made any changes to the settings before you draft. 

How Fantasy Platforms Are Handling Travis Hunter in 2025

Guillotine Leagues: Offense-Only

On our in-house platform here at Fantasy Life Travis Hunter will only receive points for his offensive production. 

ESPN: Only Offense in Regular Fantasy; IDP He Gets It All

In traditional ESPN fantasy leagues only Travis Hunter's offensive production will count. His defensive production will only count toward the Jacksonville team defense.

In IDP leagues, however, he can be played as either a WR or CB and will receive points for both his offensive and defensive production. 

CBS: Bending the Rules a Little

The good people at CBS gave me a very detailed answer on how to make Travis Hunter fit your league's personality. Special thanks to Dave Richard for the help!

Travis Hunter is categorized as a WR in the CBS system, so traditional leagues will only count his offensive production. League settings are customizable but points for his defensive production would have to be manually added each week by the commissioner in order to be counted. His defensive production will automatically count toward the Jacksonville team defense.

For IDP leagues, commissioners have the ability to adjust his positional eligibility so he can be made eligible for a CB position but the default is WR eligibility only. CBS will not automatically score Hunter's defensive stats so the commissioner would need to manually add his defensive stats each week in order for them to count.

Sleeper: Same as ESPN 

In traditional fantasy leagues on Sleeper, Travis Hunter's offensive production is all that will count. His defensive production will only count toward the Jacksonville team defense.

For IDP leagues, Hunter will be eligible to fill either a WR or CB position and will receive points for his production on both sides of the ball.

Fleaflicker: Points Galore!

The default settings on Fleaflicker will have Travis Hunter earn points for both his offensive and defensive production.

Travis Hunter will have WR/CB eligibility and we give commissioners more control with the "Apply To" setting.

For example, if you have a "1 point per catch" rule applied to WRs, Hunter will only get those points if started at WR-slot or a flex slot that allows WRs.

In IDP leagues on Fleaflicker, those same rules apply by default but they can easily be adjusted by the league commissioner to have defensive points only apply to players in defensive positions as shown in the screenshot below. If you are playing in an IDP league on Fleaflicker it is important to confirm the settings of your league prior to the draft as this will greatly impact Travis Hunter's value.

Like ESPN and Sleeper, in traditional fantasy leagues you will only receive points for Travis Hunter's offensive production. His defensive production will only count toward the Jacksonville team defense.

In IDP leagues, Travis Hunter will be drafted as one player and is eligible to fill either a WR or CB roster spot. His offensive and defensive production will count regardless of what spot he fills in your lineup.

NFFC

In NFFC contests Travis Hunter will only receive points for his offensive production (and special teams TDs) but his defensive production will only count toward the Jacksonville team defense. 

FFPC: Stacking With a DST??

This is the first notable outlier among fantasy sites. FFPC does not offer IDP leagues but they do use what is called 'action based scoring' which means that any TD, regardless if it occurs on offense, defense, or special teams will count as six points for a player. So if Travis Hunter has a pick-six or fumble recovery for a TD, that will count for six points. 

We can't project many defensive TDs for Hunter but I wouldn't be surprised if he has one or two which definitely raises his weekly ceiling. It also creates an interesting stacking opportunity to play Hunter and the Jacksonville defense to potentially double dip on a defensive TD for 12 points. This is a low probability outcome but worth keeping in mind, particularly in top-heavy tournaments where every edge matters. 

Key takeaways

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when starting this process but in the end it isn't too surprising that most platforms are taking the same approach to scoring Travis Hunter's production. However, there are some unique situations to be aware of for those playing in leagues on FFPC and Fleaflicker. 

I have only played in IDP leagues a few times (you'll want to check out our newest writer, Gladys Louise Tyler, for your IDP needs, though -- she's awesome) but my biggest takeaway here is that if you play in that format, Hunter is going to be extremely valuable with CB eligibility and WR production. I'll leave the exact ranking to the IDP pros (that would be Gladys again) but my gut instinct is that Hunter should be one of, if not the first, defensive eligible players off the board. If he plays meaningful offensive snaps he is going to score a lot of points for a defensive eligible player, which will create a weekly advantage for the fantasy manager who rosters him. 

The table below summarizes the default scoring settings for each platform, but as I mentioned at the top, many platforms offer customizable scoring settings so you should always double check the settings for your league before you draft.
