Kendall Valenzuela examined the news, notes and rumors coming out of the NFL Scouting Combine, including where Kyler Murray could play next season.

The NFL Scouting Combine may be in the rearview mirror, but the rumors are just heating up! While all eyes are on combine risers and fallers (shoutout to Ty Simpson, Mike Washington and Omar Cooper) there are also NFL moves that were being floated around during the week in Indianapolis. Now it's time to pinpoint which NFL Combine rumors could turn into reality sooner rather than later.
There might not be a better time to buy Malik Willis in dynasty than right now. Many expect the free-agent quarterback to be on the move after the show he put on for a few games for the Packers in 2025, but Jeremy Fowler is reporting that multiple offensive coaches think he could be one of the league's best rushing quarterbacks. There are obvious questions about whether he could sustain a full season as a starter, but if we're looking at a potential QB1 with the rushing upside that Willis has, it's time to buy.
Fowler also reported that the Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals are a few teams that could be interested in Willis. The connection between him and Miami might be the strongest because of the Dolphins’ new HC Jeff Hafley, who most recently served as the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers.
If there's one article you need to read post-Combine, it's the big boss Matthew Berry's. As he always likes to say, he's a company man and I follow in those footsteps! Matthew writes about the 35 most interesting things he heard during his week in Indianapolis and the Kyler Murray saga is definitely something that stood out to me, especially this quote:
"I don’t know what team he is playing for next year. I just know what team he isn’t and that’s the Arizona Cardinals. A trade seems unlikely, but they’ll try. If not, expect Murray to be released."
Hand up, I figured the Cardinals would maybe attempt to keep Murray on the squad just because of the lack of true talented free agent quarterbacks, but it sounds like Murray's time in Arizona is all but over. Where he goes next is truly up in the air. If you're looking to sell Murray in Dynasty, it feels like you're selling at the lowest value and to be quite honest, it may not be worth it. Now, on the other hand, if you're still a Kyler Murray truther and you believe that a change of scenery could do him some good, then go ahead and buy at a low price.
Like Matthew Berry said, no one has any idea where Murray could end up, but the rumors are linking him to the New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings.
"My guess is it will be similar to Daniel Jones last year where (if Kyler’s a free agent) he will go to the team where he has the best chance to start and maybe do a one-year prove-it deal."
The Athletic's Alec Lewis does an amazing job of covering the Minnesota Vikings and once again put out a phenomenal piece about what he heard on the potential 2026 starting quarterback and where the team might go with J.J. McCarthy. Of course, I can't give you everything he wrote about because we like to support journalism in these parts, but here's what we do know…
Four quarterbacks could be in the mix for the Vikings to pursue this offseason. Head Coach Kevin O'Connell said earlier that competition would be coming for McCarthy, if anything to help him develop. But for the team in 2026 and us in fantasy football, development needs to come fast.
McCarthy was one of just eight quarterbacks to complete under 60% of his passes. To make matters worse, his 60.1 PFF passing grade ranked 36th among 43 qualified quarterbacks, just ahead of Geno Smith. YIKES.
Competent quarterback play will certainly make drafting guys like Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison more fun this season. Some guys to keep an eye on are Smith, Murray, Derek Carr and Kirk Cousins. I know that doesn't necessarily make anyone excited, but again we are just looking for some consistency so that we can get a good return on Jefferson this season. It can't get worse, right? RIGHT?
Talk about a trade that could have huge impacts on the fantasy football season. Could A.J. Brown truly be on the move? According to Albert Breer, there is potential.
"While Howie Roseman quietly has had talks, Brown’s side has gauged whether there’s greener grass elsewhere."
No matter what, moving Brown is going to be tricky for both sides. For fantasy, it's not like he was a huge disappointment last season. He was the WR14 and averaged 14.1 points per game. In his 15 games played he caught 78 passes for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. Still, it was his fewest receiving yards in a season since 2021.
Brown's contract doesn't really push the team into a corner when it comes to a deadline either. But what's the asking price? According to Breer, the Eagles would want a first-round pick and another top-100 pick. On the other side, some NFL teams are viewing this situation like what the Bills got for Stefon Diggs from Houston, a second-round pick and a Day 3 pick swap.
It's a big move that might stay dormant for a long time. We'll be waiting, but it feels like more attention should be paid to a potential big 2026 season from one DeVonta Smith.
This is something the fantasy community probably already knew, but depending on the landing spot we could see some serious stock movement for Tyler Allgeier. Matthew Berry heard that Allgeier could be on the move to Arizona, considering they are expected to release James Conner. If that one doesn't come true, my prediction is that he lands with the San Francisco 49ers, and if he does, sign me up for a ton of handcuff upside.
